Roka Dubai

Hot of the press Dubai is set to have another fantastic restaurant. ROKA Dubai is set to open early next year.

Roka is from the stable of award winning chef Rainer Becker better known perhaps for his Dubai Restaurnat Zuma which in recent years has become a safe haven of culinary excellence in DIFC.  Zuma is truly international with multiple branches across London including in Mayfair, Aldwych and Charlotte Street.

Dubai’s restaurant will open in the ME Dubai in The Opus by Omniyat in Business Bay, designed by the late Zaha Hadid, in early 2020 and is sure to be one of the city’s most exciting new arrivals.

It will have space for 175 diners in the 7,437 sq ft venue. Interiors come from Norisan Muramatsu and we are told to expect an “edgy warmth” and a “chic feel”, the space will be complimented by a spacious terrace with a resident DJ

ROKA is a Japanese robatayaki restaurant that focuses around robata grills. So what will be different I hear you ask? Well the main difference from Zuma is ROKA is based around the robata grill, there will regretably be no sushi bar. The robata grill originates from the fisherman cooking fish over charcoal on the boats out to sea off northern Japan.

It all sounds super exciting and we cannot await the culinary delight that ROKA restaurant Dubai will I am sure be.
